It is an Abruzzo winery born from the long winemaking experience of the Di Carlo family, producers since 1830.
An ancient family tradition that over the years has gradually been enriched with the most modern tools in the oenological field and the most advanced production tools, that creates a precious union between the ancient wisdom of the rural world and a contemporary productive culture.
Vigna Madre produces wines that interpret the wine-growing story of the greenest region of Europe, Abruzzo. We grow the most representative native grape varieties : Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo, Pecorino, Passerina, and Cococciola grown under the ORGANIC
agriculture certified by ICEA.
Our vineyards are located between the Adriatic coast and the Maiella massif. The great red native grape varieties such as the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, benefit from the warm sea breezes. White native grape varieties such as Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, Pecorino, Passerina and Cococciola benefit from a good temperature range between night and day that help wines to keep all their fragrance and minerality.
